Ron Altmann is founder and owner of Conservation Properties,selling land to be conserved LLC, a consulting and brokerage firm focused on land preservation. Previously, Ron spent a decade as the Executive Director of the Catawba Lands Conservancy, a private, not-for-profit land trust Think local nature conservancyserving the six county region around Charlotte, North Carolina. Prior to managing a land trust Think local nature conservancyRon worked as an agronomist, engineer and in real estate.

Under Ron’s leadership, Catawba Lands Conservancy grew from an all-volunteer grassroots advocacy effort with no operating budget to being one of the leading land trusts Think local nature conservancyin the state with an operating budget of more than $500,000, eight staff members, and 5300 acres of land preserved in one of the fastest-growing metropolitan regions of the nation.

Known for his consummate real estate negotiating, skilled fundraising, rapid organization-building, and passion for land preservation, Ron launched Conservation Properties,selling land to be conserved LLC in 2004. Ron’s goal is to make a wider impact on preserving natural lands and open space by directly assisting landowners, building public and private partnerships and advising land trusts Think local nature conservancyon strategic land acquisition, organizational development and fund raising.
